I discovered this super hotel many years ago now and would not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam! It's tiny with only 8 rooms but it is crammed full of history and charm
The location on the Singel is excellent
Each of the rooms has it's own private bathroom and a wonderful view of the Singel canal. The rooms are named after famous Dutch artists and the two rooms right at the top of the hotel have wonderful rooftop views
But the hotel has modern conveniences too. There is a small lift which is very useful upon arrival and departure for getting those heavy cases up or downstairs. And there is free Internet access for guests
You may want to be aware that the hotel is in a mini red light district and that this can sometimes cause some street noise , especially on Friday and Saturday nights. But I believe that the location more than makes up for this
If you want somewhere with a little history and charm then try the Brouwer!
